Mountain Info
Snow Summit offers night skiing, rental equipment and 12 ski lifts. They have 67 beginner to advanced snow slopes and features, including: 41 snow features (19 of them are jumps and 26 are jibs). It's a great mountain for beginners, with plenty of features to satisfy an any expert.

Bear Mountain has four mountain peaks, 14 ski lifts an a sweet freestyle park for the snowboarders. Thrill seekers can find a variety of jibs and jumps for all levels.

Snowboarding Tips

When getting ready to go Big Bear Mountain snowboarding or Snow Summit snowboarding, here are tips and tricks to reduce discomfort and increase your fun.

  • Wear sunglasses or snow goggles
  • Wear sun block- the snow reflects about 80 percent of the sun's rays.
  • Dress warmly in layers. Temperatures in both your body and the atmosphere changes rapidly.
  • Waterproof gloves that fit properly and do not cut off your circulation.
  • Wear a helmet
  • Wear waterproof jacket and snow pants

Choosing Your Snowboard

A small snowboard is used for learning, as well as trick, park and pipe riding. Avid to intermediate riders use medium snowboards for many maneuvers and terrain. Long snowboards are used for high speed riding. When selecting a snowboard it is best to visit a snowboard shop and ask the staff. Each board has it's own uses, flexibility and maneuverability. It's best to find out which will work for you.

Size Guideline:

  • A small snowboard should come to your neck
  • A medium snowboard should come up to your mouth
  • A long snowboard are eye level to over your head
